Models Industry Week III Orientation

Models Industry Week is an orientation and Models REALITY project born out of the zeal to impact in the average Nigerian model in particular. It is a Hardnock IDEA which is unique and peculiar in nature. The INDUSTRY indeed can not grow without better Orientation of Models on how to add value to them selves, physically and mentally, how to be self branded in order to attract relative brands. Identifying self and selllable Personality is vital. Knowing a Role model is also a way to go. Zeal and Passion without proper ORIENTATION often lead to disappoint and frustration for alot of Aspirants. Being desperate without proper information on possible expectations especially on the huddle of building a career leads to a crashed dream.

It is important to note that every chosen career has it challenges, so is modeling and Showbiz as a whole. You have to be prepared to handle them without seeing them as reasons to quit. Ofcourse difficulties are there to make you either a quiter or a winner. Definitely everyone want to relate with winners and successful persons. The choice to be one is personal.

In 2017, the maiden edition of MIW was tagged "reDRESS, reBRAND", In 2018, it was tagged " Breeding the New Generation of Models". Back in 2019, the theme is " Consolidating the Real Essence of Modeling". This is because we are focused on the core objectives which major on educating models on how to build the kind of INDUSTRY they are all yarning for in Nigeria. Just like the difficult navigation of this project, it's not going to be easy, but with a clearer vision and objectivity, as well as set goals, the mission is possible. (Introductory)

Someone said that Makeup is not a mask that covers your beauty. Rather its a mechanism that helps you express who you are from the inside.

It is about balancing the story which it intend to corroborate. For instance, when the eyes makes a statement, the lips should keep quiet. That's a statement that can be made with the combination of the Art & Act.... Therefore as a model, it is less productive to hit the studio without storylines in mind. Except if you are mentally creative, proactive and good in improvising with expression. You must consider improving an Acting Skill as well, interpreting characters that comes to mind.

Nonetheless, the advantage of having the storyline in mind is that it helps you prepare on the things you will need to corroborate your photo story. Things like makeup/ makeover, costume, style, location, interior (studio/ indoor) or exterior (outdoor), even choice of photographer, etc. With all of these in mind, telling a story behind the photo you PRESENT on any platform will be a masterpiece because you have the image in your heart.

Being good in IMAGE narration makes you a potential good Brand Ambassador because you represent not only your brand well, but also other components/ brands  that makes up your story. It begins with you, having the story at heart, expressing it into an image. In other words attracting the right attention for the desired result. A model who is good at this may invest into Wallpaper business, like owning a website which accommodates images with deep and creative storylines.

Models Connect Nigeria presents; MODELS RETREAT; slated for December 16^th, 2016 at the Blue Island, kilometer 17, Lekki, Epe express way, Lekki, by Chevron round about. It is a special end of the year DAY event for all models and aspirants, where they are expected to network with the entire industry and fans, especially the fashion designer. The venue was specially chosen to provide that get away feeling required for deep reflection, as well as the unusual outdoor fun with a pool party.  Showcasing fashion sense, style and dexterity. The event is meant not only to substitute the last edition of Models Connect Industry Night; MCIN for 2016, but to create an outdoor atmosphere while accommodating an after-party. 

Activities starts from 12 noon with photo session, fashion presentation, and red carpet. There will be other side attractions such as music, comedy and dance.

Models Connect Nigeria presents........ #BeautyNaija Independence Day #MadeOfGREEN Walk out, otherwise referred to as the GREEN CARNIVAL. It is a special morning workout activity to mark Nigeria 56 Independence Anniversary. This will also mark the first unveiling process for the BEAUTY NAIJA project, initiated to develop and project beauty, creativity as well as other skills which are capable of sustaining personal value in modeling career.

OBJECTIVE:
The objective is to encourage fitness while sharing other sides of individual or mutual beauty in the area of skill, or initiatives which contributes to the beauty of the nation.
ACTIVITIES: • A solidarity Walk (Rally) around the main bowel of the stadium. • Aerobics • Goodwill messages • Photo session.
Participants are free to seize the networking opportunity to create awareness on individual skills, brand, industry, and forthcoming projects. Brand participation and sharing of branded souvenirs is also allowed.

TARGET AUDIENCE:
Admission is free to all Nigerians and friends of Nigerians, especially the young and young at heart. Expected to grace the activities is Harrison Chinedu, Nigeria's current Guinness World Record title holder for the farthest distant travel with the ball balanced on the head, Models, Beauty Queens, and celebrated personalities in the entertainment industry.
